Starting in the Kootenay Valley, the trail to Stanley Glacier begins climbing through lush forest

Starting nice and early, there is lots of mist and cloud at this altitude.

Much of the area burned after a lightning strike years ago, the regrowth is very interesting to see.

At the top of the trail there is an awesome view of the Glacier and Mountain peaks

There are un-maintained trails that continue up the loose avalanche scree to a hanging valley. This is the view looking back over the area I hiked up.

Inside the Hanging Valley, stopped for lunch!

This one had zero interest in the humans less than 15 feet away.

...They didn't eat me.
