Miscellaneous from Dec. 2013

(not) Abandoned Gun Factory in Brno, Czech Republic

Returning to the Gun Factory on Jan. 1st after New Years Celebrations. This Facility is a 1km Squared industrial complex that was decommissioned in the 90's and has since been reclaimed by local artists, as well as a few squatters.

At some point this particular area was used as a skatepark, but got shut down when it's creators tried to make it into a commercial venture without any permits to do so.

There were endless electrical panels and switchboards

The sheer scale of the place was impressive - this was one of 20+ halls this size in the complex.

Lots of interesting grafitti

Much of the artwork is done by local promoters who host all night Techno parties hidden away inside.

A fully functioning bar fashioned from found materials, a little worse for wear after the New Year's Festivities.

Up
I don't think we were supposed to go this way.... a little ominous!

Up to the Roof!

Vegetable garden, and handmade Swimming Pool!

Somehow there were some red tomatoes preserved in the middle of the winter.

This little guy came to say goodbye! He wasn't the only non human tenant, there were a few dogs as well.

Austria - The Alps!

We arrive in Tamsweg, Austria!

This is the lovely farm house we stayed in. Hospitality was unparalleled.

On our first excursion into town, we found a cauldron of Mulled Wine!

This happened a little later.

Overnight, the snow came!

Brought my camera out onto the slopes for Day 3 of skiing, on which we tackled the magnificent Obertauern. Conditions were amazing!

Some Austrians in their natural element @ 2000+ Metres.

Gammsmilche at 2400 Metres after a tiring day, complete with sweaty ski hair!
